Description
Millie is a beautiful 6-year-old Deerhound cross Poodle, about the size of a Standard Poodle, with the softest, silkiest coat and the most delightfully goofy hair you’ve ever seen. She turns heads wherever she goes but it’s her gentle soul that truly makes her special.
Millie’s world was turned upside down when she lost her canine companion, and came into our care shortly after, and she’s been struggling to find her footing ever since. She’s a sensitive, affectionate girl who forms deep bonds, and right now she’s feeling that loss more than ever. In kennels, without the comfort of a familiar environment, she’s finding it hard to relax and be her true self.
At heart, Millie is what you might call a “nervous nelly”, a sweet, timid dog who just needs a little reassurance and a lot of love. She has been on social walks with other dogs and can cope well in that setting, but she hasn’t enjoyed having dogs in her personal space. It may be that the dog she grew up with was the only dog she truly felt safe with.
Millie forms very strong bonds with her people, so she’s looking for a home where she won’t be left for long periods and can enjoy plenty of companionship and reassurance. What she truly needs is a calm, patient household with kind-hearted people who understand that trust takes time. With the right family by her side, you’ll see her confidence begin to blossom.
