Rosie is a 10-year-old Border Collie X Bearded Collie. She is house-trained but not spayed. She may be middle-aged but she’s fit and well and full of life and energy. She enjoys long walks on the fells, showing no interest at all in sheep.
Rosie is a very loving dog she enjoys being petted and groomed for long periods of time. In the evening she settles down and is very peaceful until it is time to get up in the morning. Rosie is housetrained. Rosie can be left alone for short periods of time but likes to have an old cushion to mouth which functions in the same way as a baby dummy for her!
Although Rosie is generally a sweet and friendly dog, she is nervous of sudden movements and this has caused her to occasionally nip in the past. She would be unsuitable for busy homes or for families with young children.
Rosie walks fairly well on the lead but can be anxious with passing traffic, she prefers walks away from main roads. Rosie doesn’t like other dogs to invade her space and will tell them to go away by growling and barking if they come close to her. She’s not fond of car journeys, she gets quite unsettled and barks.
Beautiful Rosie is looking for a home where someone will be there for her most of the time and will understand her fears of other dogs and sudden movements. She is a wonderful girl who will bring a lot of love and friendship to her new family.
