We always welcome dedicated people who share our enthusiasm for the welfare of animals. If you would like to join our team of volunteers, you could help in one or more of the following ways. We are entirely self-funded therefore we rely heavily on volunteers and fundraising events/activities.
Kennel/centre volunteers are always needed. Without volunteers we could not operate our kennels or sanctuary. Anyone wishing to volunteer should contact us via telephone or email to arrange an induction.
Fosterers are needed to help with short and long term care of dogs, cats and small animals. All supplies and vet costs are covered by the charity.
Home checkers are vital to visit the homes of potential owners to check the care and environment to be provided. Training for these positions is provided and we aim to continuously improve our procedures.
Fundraisers are always needed to help raise much needed funds for the charity. We are always looking for people with ideas or to attend fundraising events in the local area. We can never have enough volunteers so please get in touch if you think you could help! It is really rewarding working with the team at events, meeting members of the public and their furry friends.
Gardening and Maintenance help is always required to help keep our sites well maintained and in good order. Gardening, painting, cleaning, putting up shelves – there is always a job to be done! Please get in touch if this is something you could help with.
Donations of items are always welcome as we run lots of tombola events and we also welcome donations of things for our animals. We can arrange a collection or delivery time to suit you.
Additionally, we have a number of donation bins around Cumbria where you can donate food, toys etc. These are located at:
- Pets at Home, Workington
- Sainsburys, Cockermouth
- Millcrofts Veterinary Practice
- Marion’s Pet Shop, Egremont
- Millbry Hill, Whitehaven
