New Build Underway

Thursday, 22nd July 2021

Our grateful thanks for a generous legacy, along with smaller legacies and donations, enabling the revamp of our Centre.  The old stable block has been demolished, the kennel block refurbished, with foundations for cat pods, dog indoor area and isolation areas started.

A new utility block will be built to provide food preparation areas, a laundry room, vet and grooming facilities, storerooms and staff/volunteer facilities.

Whilst Covid impacted timings and sourcing materials, during this time and Covid permitting, our Community work continues

* rehoming animals
* supporting cat colonies in the vital effort to Trap-Neuter-Return
* continue working with other animal charities rehoming
* supporting smaller independent charities with food and bedding
* supporting food banks for people who lost income/were struggling
* fundraising through stalls, car boots and Partnerships
* supporting animals who need medical treatment through our Peppa’s Pot Campaign
* supporting people who want to keep their pets but through ill health or lack of mobility could not walk them
* In June we participated in Hensingham Helping Hero’s Pet Parade which raised an amazing £583.88. This will go towards vet bedding for the new kennels and cattery.

We hope to reopen the Centre later this year and are currently in the process of Recruiting an animal care team ready for receiving our first new residents. We will also be looking to expand and broaden the range of expertise on our trustee board and increase our team of volunteers.

Your legacies and donations go towards animal health and welfare, rescue, rehoming and rehabilitation, enabling them to live a good life.

Thank you for your ongoing support enabling the Charity to continue helping animals.
